Confirmation is open to all students in grades 7 to 10. The curriculum we are using is Faith Inkubators, Head 2 Heart. Head 2 Heart attempts to harness the power of small group ministries and build a network of care as the context for all learning. Small groups learn, serve, and play as they bond together as living cells in the body of Christ. Each month there are theme, servant, and fellowship events plus a gathering for group leaders and volunteers called a huddle. Head 2 Heart allows us to get away from strictly book learning and allows us to understand more fully our mission statement at ORLC which is to Hear Study Share so others may know Christ and his blessings. 9th and 10th Grade schedule: Wednesday evening class from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on November 2, 9, 16 (Fellowship event), 30 and on December 7th. NO class on November 23rd. 7th and 8th Grade schedule: Wednesday class from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on December 14, 21, January 4, 11, 18, 25, February 1, 8 and 15th. Lenten Mentoring Program The Lenten Mentoring Program is a required part of confirmation studies at Our Redeemer. Each student enrolled in confirmation is asked to partner with an adult from the congregation in order to Hear, Study and Share together throughout the Lenten season. Practically speaking, this means that a student and his/her mentor will worship at Wednesday Lenten worship and then meet to discuss the theme of the week and to pray together. Lenten mentoring allows adults and students to come to know each other more fully, to share thoughts Ð questions Ð doubts about their faith, to learn to pray together and to experience community in Christ. Lenten Schedule: March 1 (Ash Wednesday), 8, 15, 22, 29 and April 5th Worship services are tentatively scheduled for 4 and 6:30 each Wednesday. Volunteer Opportunities The Head 2 Heart confirmation program is need of many volunteers as small group leaders, large group presenters, drama coordinator, servant event coordinator and fellowship event coordinator. The Lenten Mentor program is in need of adults willing to spend approximately 1 to 2 hours per week for six weeks mentoring confirmation students.
